Dobil Laboratories Renovation
LOCATION: Former Romp N' Roll in Glenshaw, PA

With Sota Construction, qkArchitecture transformed the former Romp n’ Roll roller skating rink in Glenshaw into a new headquarters for Dobil Laboratories, which specializes in the design of audio visual technology systems.
Striving to maintain the character of the building’s past, our team re-purposed select relics like the original multi-colored running lights in the entry corridor, portions of the skating floor in the employee game room and for a custom conference room table, arcade games and signage, and we even saved the stickers on the tapered column in what was the DJ booth.
With our space planning that allowed for casual, collaborative interactions, along with breakaway space like the game room, golf room, and huddle room, we successfully preserved the kitsch of the roller skating rink, while positively shifting Dobil’s workplace culture.
